Hi

I will be flying from Nice to Malta and back in August staying in St.
Julians.

But the flight times are awkward. They arrive at 2200 and leave at 0700.

Does anyone know if it's possible to get buses at that time from and to the airport to St Julians. Or what a txi would cost?

One flight which arrives in Malta in the afternoon has only a one hour five minute changeover at Francfort airport.

I went to Sliema about 3 years ago. Where we stayed was a 20 minute stroll along the front from St Julians. It was not expensive in a taxi, maybe £15-20. When we worked out how much it would have cost for transfers it worked out cheaper to get a taxi. The price was the same whether the taxi was booked in advance or when we landed - but it might be worth checking that is still the case.

A bus would be cheaper still but I do not think the will do night buses from the Airport.

Most hotels will organise a taxi transfer for you. I doubt the buses will run at that time, and of course you may be delayed so I wouldnt risk not having something organised at the other end.

Taxis are reasonable. There is a company in St Julian's called Wembley. Look them up and maybe drop them an email? If you can't get their email address PM me and I'll look it out for you. They're a little cheaper than the standard fixed fare airport taxis.

I just put 'wembley taxi in st julians malta' into a google search and bingo, there's a link to their website contact page, which gives you an email address and also a contact/ enquiry form to fill in if you prefer.

I got a taxi from St Julian's to the airport last June, arranged by the hotel and it cost me 18 euros.
Silvios taxis were the best company whilst I was there, I went to a party with a friend and he waited until 6am the next morning, sleeping in the car park, to make sure that we could get back to our hotel ok afterwards!

I sent Wembleys an email and they have just replied.

It will be 20 euros.

I've done that flight to Frankfurt with a connection. AVOID it.


Frankfurt is a nightmare. Plane lands at one end of the airport, shuttle buses, line-ups, stairs and more bussing.


I'm never doing that one unless there is two hour window between flights.
