Thanks for the input all, even you mrginge ;)

You're right it was under a week and they seem to have fixed it thankfully but it was two separate errors on an individual's credit report causing a mortgage decision to be delayed through no fault of their own - hence the sensitivity and rush to get it fixed. It was my wife's handling of the situation (remaining polite but very firm when necessary) that got it dealt with so quickly.

The market in our area is a bit silly because of crossrail with stories of houses being snapped up for asking price on the day of listing. Our place sold within a week and the house we want to buy had only been on for 10 days when our offer was accepted. If we can't show we can proceed we risk losing the property.

Once things have settled down we'll raise a complaint with Nationwide, more just to avoid it happening to anyone else rather than wanting anything out of it.

    Am i reading this correctly?

Its taken them a week to solve the issue and you think that is unreasonable?

People and companies do sometimes make mistakes you know.
Just like people don't bother to check their credit reports before storming off to get a mortgage.

I think the complaint was that Nationwide got it wrong after being contacted by the OP. Nationwide removed three items instead of two therefore causing the extra problem. I don't think OP would have posted the complaint here if Nationwide had fixed the problem properly in the first place by just removing the two incorrect items.
    It's someone else's fault.

Frankly, a week is unreasonable for a major mistake.

It should be a matter of an overnight database run. Perhaps another day for a QC procedure. It's not hard, we aren't relying on carrier pigeons any more.

If your Experian file is perfect can you not try with another lender who will look at that instead rather than hanging around for Nationwide?
