Cheap car for bad winter days

Been toying with the idea of selling our second car as both our cars are becoming expensive to run (10 years old), need something to get to work so been contemplating a cheap commuter scooter, the only thing that worries me is snow and black ice!, so I am thinking of buying a cheap £150 trade in car every winter with enough mot, put 6 months tax on and insurance and either sell or weigh it in after winter, can you get 6 month insurance policy?, if it blew up I'd just weigh it in and buy another one, does this sound feasible?, Work is only 6 miles away and I'd only use it when dangerous to go by motorbike!

Thanks

So you're getting rid of your second car, buying a scooter and another car all to save money? :wall:

Would you recommend brakes on the rear wheels?

Honestly stop recycling the same old joke, it's getting boring now. If you want to mock me the least you could do is to come up with a more original and creative

Cheap bangers (cars) to get you through the winter don't exist at that price point anymore. For a <£500 plodder and with time to look, get an old school Clio diesel (ideally the antique 1.9D with no turbo) and with its weight over the fwd , decent tyres, you'll beat the snow-plough man to work.

There are some clowns on here.... There would be no depreciation, only 6 month tax instead of 12, save fuel throughout the year, 150 mpg on scooter, not sure if they do a 6 month insurance policy though, I can buy cheap trade ins from a guy that maybe very old and not fashionable ie Kia pride, battered micras, rusty fiestas which would be better than killing myself on black ice on the scooter, thought about a quad bike also but would probably depreciate more!. I have even made money when selling said cheap Cars when have done with them!.

You know there is only one car to choose, I think it is called a L2, or an N4, or O5. Cant remember.

Perhaps people will do when you stop wasting their time. You think the joke's getting boring? Ever heard the phrase "Pot calling kettle black"?

As you've got a source for £150 trade ins buying these instead of a scooter plus a car is likely to be cheaper.
