Court Fine Lost
Don't know if this is the right part of the forum so I apologise in advance
My other half paid part of his fine with the agreement the rest would be paid via a card set amount each month.
We then received a letter that indicated the full amount was still owing. Oh rang the court and they indicated that the payment had been lost. He made another payment as the court said that until it was found he would show in arrears and that would cause him further problems. They advised they would look into the payment and come back to us.
That was over 4 weeks ago and all we've had is an email saying they are still looking into it. We really need to have that money found to bring this matter to an end
How long do they have to investigate? Is there anything we can do to get them to speed up. We took the extra money out of our holiday fund and we go away in 3 weeks so getting desperate
Thanks in advance

Has the first cheque cleared through your account?“Learn from the mistakes of others. You can never live long enough to make them all yourself.”

It was a card payment so cleared straight away and we have a payment reference to go with it which they have agreed is one of theirs they just can't trace it their endFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0

You paid, they lost it, they confirmed they received it. Why pay twice?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Because until they've allocated it to the correct account it's deemed not paid? Thus OP's OH would be in default, which could cause far more problems than having paid twice.0 -

They didn't confirm they received it just that the payment refrence looked like one of theirs but they can't find the payment they have been looking for nearly 5 weeks now and we are getting a bit fed up with it :mad:First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
You paid, got a reference number, presumably now have a statement showing it went out to their account by now, so you don't wait, you complain. No matter how archaic their system allegedly is, they don't have a squad of clerical assistants running around looking for 5 weeks for a single entry. They either quickly find where it has been wrongly assigned or write it off on the basis you can prove you have paid.0

Thank you we have put a complaint in but they said they are still dealing with it. What is our next step do they have a set time to deal with it like bank do ie 8 weeks?First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
