£2950 for a rip and replace bathroom suite, worth it?

So I received this quote for a R&R bathroom suite and was wondering whether it is a fair one and what other questions I should ask.

Supply and fit new bathroom including remove existing suite, wall tiles and floor covering
Supply and install close coupled toilet.
Supply and install vanity unit with soft closed doors, sink, mixed tap and pedestal
Supply and fit new bath with glass panel, bath filler and waste
Supply and fit new travertine effect wall and floor tiles with real travertine border
Fit any accessories.

Thanks for your help as always.

Is that the labour cost, or with appliances?

Good questions. Labour cost almost certainly. I will check for the others. What do you mean by appliances BTW?

If it's supply and fit then it will be to supply all the sanitary ware aswell.
  • Is it too good to be true then? What questions do I have to ask them in order to check whether they can do the job.

It sounds too cheap. Sounds like they are doing little prep work and buying the cheapest items available

A quote should list the full amount of works not just a statement so you can see what type of job your getting and compare like to like on other quotes

I agree with andyhop. It seems too cheap. Can only be low quality?

I third that! I would second it but Doozergirl did that :-) Definitely way too cheap.

    A full breakdown is essential:

    hardware & fittings etc.
    stripping or first fixings
    plumbing
    electrical work
    tiling
    fitting
    carpentry, painting etc.
    parking?
    rubbish clearance?

I guess I was lucky. The job has been completed on time (took 5 days). I paid £3975 inc VAT. That's more than the £2950 mentioned above but that was me going a bit berserk with the upgrades. Went for underfloor heating, a chrome radiator, upgrade to posher models (bath tube, vanity set etc). Everything looks as I was expected bar a few niggles (raised floor was not something I was expecting).
