Hi my elderly mother has had her driving licence revoked due to medical reasons. She owns a car and wants to keep it for family members to use when they visit.
What is the best way to insure the car please?
thanks

Someone else will have to insure it in their name.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Figure out who the main driver is, then who any named drivers are likely to be.0

Thanks
Will the main driver have to take over the ownership?

No they do not have to. But it maybe cheaper if they do.
The comparison sites will usually assume your the registered keeper and owner, So dont bother with those.
You need to do the phoning around or use a local broker.
Dont forget that any no claims on their own personal car cannot be used on this car as well.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Considering she cant use it. Does it not make sense to sell to the nearest relative (or give).
How often are the visits, it may be cheaper to get a hire car for those times?
MOT, Tax and Insurance would be a decent whack. Lets guess at £600 a year?0
