Nissan Qashqai+2
Hi after some advice I have a Nissan Qashqai +2 registered March 2010 we bought it in April 2013 from Nissan Holdcroft. It has 57,759 miles it also has a full service history. The last service was at a local garage not the dealership.
The head gasket has cracked and will cost 3.5k for parts .5k labour. We have gone to Nissan Customer Care to see if they can help will a good will gesture due to age mileage and service history. They say they have changed their policy it's now up to the dealership? The dealership are saying that because the last service was completed at a local garage and he is not VAT registered it doesn't count? Even though he is a licensed mechanic...... What do we do now! Any help gratefully received. Thx

you bought the car in April 2013, so you have had it for 2 years and the warranty has also probably ran out.
To be fair 2 years is a long time to expect the dealership to repair as a good will gesture and i can't see them doing it if im honest-why should they?
Nissan Qashqais are only small engined cars 1.6,2.0 so 4k for a head gasket seems very expensive, is that price quoted from Nissan? a nissan speaclist could carry out the job for just over a grand, depending upon the severity of the damagePlan: [STRIKE]Finish off paying the remainder of my debts[/STRIKE].

This is where moneysaving lets you down. If you had kept using the main dealer they will sometimes bend over a little to help a loyal customer.
But you took the car elsewhere so why should they go that extra step?
Licenced mechanic? I thought that only applied to aviation?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
