what are the criteria to be given a council house/flat or even room?

Look at your councils' website.
It will say on there what their criteria are.
If you are a single person on your own, probably not much chance at all.0 -
The OP is a TROLL
in the last few days he has claimed:
- he is a lodger looking for advice on what he should do because his LL is not paying tax on the rent
- he is so well off he is looking to buy a BTL property in Essex so he can become a LL himself
- he wants someone to explain how to pass on a leasehold flat to his children after the 100 year lease expires
- he is now apparently so poor he want a council house
ALL his initial posts are a single vague sentence designed to suck people into replying0 -

Don't forget the problem with the flat being demolished half way through the leasehold term.0
