Hello everyone!
I remember reading somewhere on this board a couple of people recommending a good book for someone wanting to start growing veggies.
Can't find the thread now for the life of me! Anyone able to recommend some books for me?
Thank you

I was in the same boat recently and the advice on here was to get "The Vegetable Expert" by Dr Hessayon, actually the updated version out now is called the "Vegetable and Herb Expert".
Pretty much everything you need to get going, we have now ended up with the Fruit Expert and Greenhouse Expert, these books have stood the test of time and can be addictive!0 -
I suggest that you start by borrowing from the library until you find the ones for you.
Joy Larkcom - Grow your own vegetables cover plants now seen but not grown much 20 years ago.
Charles Dowding - http://www.charlesdowding.co.uk/learn/books/ Really good on "no dig" soil preparation and harvesting techniques.
Mel Bartholomew - Square foot gardening - getting the most from your ground. he was an engineer so things are precise and engineered but the ideas are great. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks for the recommendations
I'll have a look and see what is most suitable0
