PE parking fine

Help...

My partner took my car to a hotel for a meeting, and he didn't realised he had to pay for the parking. He probably missed the sign. Now as the registered keeper I have been sent a Penalty Charge Notice of £100 (£60 if pay within 14 days) from Private Eye. We phoned the hotel and the staff said there is signage at the entrance point.

As my partner did not pay for any ticket, and he was the driver not me, what would be the best course of action? I have a few options but not sure what would give the best outcome??

option 1: completely ignore (worked for me many years ago)
option 2: Write to them to say I was not the driver but refuse to give them driver details, ignore all subsequent correspondences.
option 3: appeal to PE then take to POPLA
option 4: appeal to PE and try to negotiate to pay a fair amount ie £15.

Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Most of those options are not at all viable for PE!

Option 3 is the only way forward unless you tackle the landowner/hotel to have them cancel it.

If this thread isn't moved soon, post your own thread in that forum for any further help, once you have an idea of what to do.
