can i cancel a three mobile phone contract

Options
I bought a phone from mobileshop.com 13 days ago. The phone is fine but the contract is with three network which is terrible. I am unable to use the phone at home or at work. I have just had a week in france and I was unable to call home as the reception was so bad. The returns policy from mobileshop states I can only return the phone unused and I cannot contact them until tomorrow as they are closed. I contacted three network within three days of receiving the phone and I was told I have to wait 5 days for them to do something to improve the signal. I am now stuck with a phone I cannot use at work, home or abroad. Any advice would be appreciated.

you sure it doesnt have international bar on
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Did you check the 3G reception available before you purchased-either using (at the least) the postcode checker, or (better) a free Three 123 PAYG SIM?
No network guarantees universal reception, and since Three runs on 3G only, there is no 2G to fall back on for calls and texts when out of 3G range.

When we took out Three contracts last year, we were told there was an automatic roaming ban for the first three months on *all* three contracts.
    Daughter's B/F also experienced this.
We are all on SIM only - would that be different??

With reference to the calls from France, you must have something wrong with your roaming settings on your account or phone itself as I have used my three feel at home in France loads of times from all over the country and not had any dropouts or problems

Faulty SIM or handset if you are unable to get coverage anywhere?
I'd test the handset with a SIM from another network.
But bear in mind that there are many areas of both the UK and France where there is no 3G, let alone 4G.

    OK, 3G and upwards.
But , in context, I think the meaning was clear enough.
