Virgin Flying Club vs Avios

I have been collecting Virgin Flying Club miles for a number of years in the hope that when i reach retirement (2yrs) i can have a holiday for nothing so to speak. I also collect Avios points for the same reason.
Being as i am no youngster i wondered what would happen to my points if i died.I could not find any info on their websites so i sent Virgin and Avios an email. To my surprise Virgin merely said ,no problem, supply them with a death certificate and my points could be transferred to my family.
Avois stated that on my death my contract with them would cease and my points would die with me.
I have no intention of dying yet but who knows and if this is the criteria laid down by Avios i shall no longer be collecting their points.
Can anybody confirm the information i have been given ?

(a) a Member dies provided that (i) we are provided with a copy of the deceased Member’s death certificate; (ii) we are provided with a copy of the deceased Member’s will showing that the proposed transferee is the lawful beneficiary of the Miles; and (iii) the requested transfer of the Miles is undisputed; or

Despite the T&Cs, I am aware of Avios being transferred to a surviving spouse in response to a suitably worded letter from a solicitor.0

With Avios, why not just set-up your account as a household account?
I have my parents on my Avios BA account, and they can use my Avios points and vice-versa.0 -

Ooh that says they transfer the tier points too.
I could bump the wife off after this year's holiday and move to BA Silver status then!0 -
I can confirm that my fathers avois were recently (last month) transferred to my mothers account.. We didn't however get the tier points, as I didn't think to ask for this..
I did this on a phone call to BA myself.. you will need to make sure you get though to the UK call centre, as in my experience, they are able to some apply common sense, and not fully the "rules" religiously..
hope this helps
p.s. I needed to email a copy of my Dads Death Certificate..0
