Anyone using credEcard via PayPoint to accept payments?

Thanks to a thread on another board, I now have a credEcard a/c which accepts cash payments via any PayPoint outlet!

You can invoice directly from your credEcard account and they have added 'eBid' as an invoicing option on their site! What's EVEN BETTER than invoicing directly and having eBid available is the PayPoint barcode option - you can send your personalised barcode via email for buyers to print and pay cash anywhere they see the PayPoint sign. I have, since, learned that sums paid must be in whole pounds, BUT there is NO FEE for the transaction and NO FEE to transfer funds by BACS to your bank account.

AND THERE'S MORE! It is FREE to set up the text message alert service and it is EXCELLENT! As soon as someone pays at a PayPoint and the cash reaches your credEcard account (approximately 24 hours) they send you a FREE TEXT MESSAGE to tell you how much was paid in, meaning you can instantly transfer or withdraw the cash. smile.gif

You can also apply for an actual plastic card that works like a pre-paid credit card or debit card, except you do not need a bank account - you just top it up at PayPoint and use it as a Maestro debit card. If you are a seller accepting credEcard and payPoint payments, you can also use the card to withdraw the cash at the ATM. I am sure there must be fees involved somewhere and can only assume that the 50p per transaction is what the buyer gets charged for sending payments confused.gif

In my opinion, credEcard is well worth investigating and spending a few days opening your account and verifying it. It's excellent receiving texts telling you someone has credited your account with 'X' amount biggrin.gif

Basic info can be found at www.credEcard.com and their support emails are responded to personally, not by automated system responses.

Hi :) I don't use it to accept payments but I have paid an eBid seller with it. Unfortunately neither I nor the seller knew at the time that payments could only be made in £1 multiples. I had to email the seller for instructions as I didn't want to underpay or overpay! Once that was sorted it was quite easy and there were no extra fees involved.

However, as a seller, I don't think I would use it as a payment option due to the "whole pounds" scenario, and also because (according to the seller I paid) they didn't have any way of knowing who had paid, only receiving notification of the payment amount. This could be a problem if you had a number of payments of the same amount....how would you know who's paid what?
