Help With Barclays Application
Irish-Edinburgh
Hello,
Sorry about the length of this but I am hoping someone can help
I am currently being confused by Barclays and was wondering if anyone would have any advice of what to do,
Two weeks ago I applied for a Barclays Bank Acccount & Barclaycard Online, A few days ago the Barclaycard came through, so I rang up to query why I had no information about the current account
Phone Call 1: Advisor told me after a very long security check that they could see nothing for a current account just the barclaycard, She claimed they had no record of the application which I found quite strange as the website got me to verify details from my Equifax Credit file at the end, So I was pretty sure I did it correct, i was then advised to visit a branch with ID.
Phone Call 2: Called 10 mins later to get a second opinion and advised the 2nd advisor of my confusion on the matter, He said somehow my details were on the system 3 times, a variance of my name, with and without my middle name and a total mis-spelling, And to go into a branch with ID and they would join all 3 together. No need for an appointment just POP in,
Now I went in this morning to be told I have to make an appointment, So i wasnt very happy as weekdays I work 9-5.30,
I am going back to the branch later in the week but I really dont like the idea of multiple credit searches, as Ive just recently changed Credit Card to Barclaycard and Mobile Phone Provider etc,
Im sure the mis-spelling variant of my name relates to a Trainee employee of Barclays un-succesful attemp to open an account for me soon after moving over 4 years ago from ireland, So I can understand that
Does anyone know if not putting my middle name on the Credit Card Application and putting it on the current account would cause duplicate records?
I have a fear I am going to get treated like a fraud suspect when i go in,
Has anyone ever experienced simular??
Any Advice would be great,
I am assuming re-applying online is a big no no
