£15 Mail Holidays - Breakfree

Beware of T&C's before booking anything. I booked a "luxury caravan" for 2 people. £40 break is now costing £128.70!! And...no caravans on the site, only chalets. "Luxury" is only silver standard. Apparently they use generic info for every park on their website. I asked to change to a site with a caravan but amendments are not allowed!! I asked for an address to write to to complain and guess what - it's the same place you call so there's no point in complaining as you will get the same answer. One disgruntled customer that shall not be going away.

If its the Breakfree/Sun £15 holidays then the initial booking (reservation fee they call it) is £60+booking card fee. The when the chosen park invoices you, you have to pay a mandatory service charge (cleaning and heating). Sometimes you will get vouchers/token at the park for your heating or it is included in the gas/electricity for the caravan/chat/apartment. Park passes are optional unless you want to use the bar/clubhouse/swimming pool/kids clubs/bingo. Linen is also optional (I take sleeping bags).

There is no such thing as a £9.50/£12.50 or £15 holiday, as you HAVE to PAY the service charge as well in order to continue with the holiday. Well, technically you don't have to. If you don't pay the invoice afterwards then you will lose the deposit money with Breakfree/Sun and your holiday will be sold on. At best budget wise you pay around £80-90 mark depending on dates and resort.

The costings/savings depends whether you go term time or half terms. For me I can only go at half terms so costs are a little higher and choice limited BUT it is always cheaper than booking direct. Even if its only £100 saved that's our petrol and food for the holiday week.

My recommendation would be to do research before you book anything. Look at early bird offers/cashback/booking direct for the park and dates you want. then make a choice.

I think you meant " Read the T&Cs before booking anything"

all the informatuon is there if you can be bothered to read them.

This is nothing new, Sun, Daily Mail etc. have been using this model for years.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow.. :p
