UKPC and 35 appeal period

I have a question for the parking boffins regarding the appeal time-frames allowed for appeal replies with BPA members. I appealed the usual speculative invoice issued by UKPC on the 7th of January based on the usual grounds using their website. The website states that a reply will be received within 35 days and I also received an email confirmation that the appeal was submitted (also dated 7th Jan)

35 days passed on the 11th of Feb. Do I need to allow 35 working days or 35 days? The appeal conformation page (http://www.ukpcappeals.co.uk/thanks) states 35 days. Should I complain at this stage?

its all a bit subjective and its what the BPA CoP expect them to meet as a target , so you need to just wait as the longer they take the more in your favour any delay might be

patience is needed here , as you are not the only one that has appealed, let them hang themselves by failing the CoP

if you havent heard from them in another couple of weeks, you could write to them stating that the matter is now closed due to the time delays

35 days is start to finish , not working days, so assume its 37 as your appeal may have taken 2 days to get there, plus another 2 days if they wrote to you on the 35th day

guidelines are guidelines, but the BPA is a trade body so wont give a monkeys right now
  • Thanks for the advice. I'm more worried about the amount of mail that goes "missing" when sent by PPCs. Royal mail seems to find it particularly difficult to deliver POPLA codes. I just don't want them conveniently claiming they already sent a response after the POPLA window closes. I'll leave it a bit longer.

ok , well maybe on monday email s clark at the BPA about it, that way you can be seen to have complained about the lack of a 35 day response , if needs be
