    Yes they can. Most telcoms contacts, landline and mobile, are not fixed price-they can increase it within the minimum term. The day after you sign up, if they wish.
    But you, as Browntoa points out, can then exercise your option to void your contract in minimum term without penalty.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
