New message from: nhctechnology Top Rated Seller (879Purple Star)
Seat height 19 inches Cost of carrier would be £40
Why did they tell you a delivery charge?
Are you somewhere outside of mainland UK?.0 -
I don't know what or how you asked them but if you bought that chair at the price listed and paid via Paypal if they do ask for another £15 you can cancel.

Northern Ireland ,but still uk ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -

That's your answer. It will cost them more to send there, all couriers have a surcharge for Northern Ireland. If it was going by Parcelforce it may be less for them to go through Ebay/Paypal postage but other than that, a £15 surcharge for something that size is quite fair in my opinion.
Not all couriers. My Hermes do not charge extra. City Link (RIP) also did not. I am sure other couriers are the same.
Personally I think as they have stated £25 for delivery and not mentioned any kind of surcharge (or I presume blocked any areas from bidding) they should stand by it.
If you can afford £100 to be stranded for a week or two, then I would purchase and pay by PayPal. If they refuse to send it without extra payment just open a Not Received claim to get your money back.0 -
Can't you set up separate pricing bands on Ebay for delivery ot NI and highlands and islands?
I would buy it with the £25 delivery charge. They may well honour it as they are likely to get poor feedback and stars if they don't. Maybe it will prompt them to sort out their listings.0 -
It is really really simple...
Ask them, send over your postcode and ask if the delivery charge stands?
Saves much hassle, waiting, grumbles, forum posts etc.
Isn't that what we used to do in the 'old days', pick up the phone and talk!
Reading the listing it saysPlease contact us on 01745 811260 to discuss - we will be sending this product out via carrier please contact us for a quote.0 -

Hermes charge £2 extra for (IM,HS,ZE) and City Link charged a whole host of quite hefty surcharges, even including one for entering the congestion zone in London!Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
