Help needed with EBAY and Paypal

Hi, in short, I'm facing a bad time to come because of what EBAY and PAYPAL will try to do to me shortly. I'm worried sick of what may happen.
I sold a Subwoofer on EBAY TO A GUY FROM THE us. On the 1st few messages the buyer asked me if it would work on a US power supply on which I stated, yes, a step up transformer is needed. Then I found a picture of the subwoofer online from the company named REL on which it stated that the power ratings were both 110v AND 240v, so I told him and he then bought it. I also contacted REL based here in England, on which they stated, yes, it will be fine using one....While this was happening, he contacted the REL company based in California stating will it work (obviously just to make sure) they tole him, sorry, no, a transformer would damage it, then I got worried when he tole me this, so I phoned back REL here in England, they said they had a E-mail from the person in California stating this, however, you can have it modified here in California, to have the whole back section replaced so it will run perfectly on the US at a price of £330 (the price of the actual subwoofer was £1800) thus why I am worried, so, I messaged him and stated, sorry, it will not work with a transformer, but it can be upgraded, free of charge by me, I'll just send it to REL direct in California, have them do the work, and then you get a full 12 month warranty, he denied it stating, sorry, no longer want it, I have found another and besides it would be expensive for you to do that for me. I was furious then at REL, and him for not checking, giving me false information etc etc....
Then, I phoned EBAY and stated everything, and PAYPAL, EBAY stated, we will refund him if you lose your case, terminate your account, and use a debt collection agency. PAYPAL stated, sorry, under a basic issue like this we would not refund someone. Then, I phoned EBAY back and tole them, and again, got people who just did not know what the hell they were doing...
All of that, a few days back I got a final decision from EBAY stating: We need you to update your details for the seller to return the item to you, but duh! I did not even send it to him, so EBAY, stated, if we hear nothing within 72hrs we will let the buyer keep the item.
Then I had a message back from him stating, hey, they wont refund me, let them know please, I did not do that as I had plans to refund him at my own pace, so he and me would both benefit from it, thus no agencies being used between us.
Then tonight I sign in to Paypal and see that I now have a negative balance of £1900 and now worried sick what may happen as I do not have the money to pay them back, as, after the message I had from REL stating that the subwoofer would be fine to use, I invested the money back in to buying a few items to sell on to make some profit from. I still have the subwoofer though, and just so so worried that Paypal may use a debt collection agency against me, or even use bailiffs to come in to my home and literally remove all my goods that I have spent the last 2 years getting to make my life better....
Any help would be vastly helpful....

By the way if it is any use, I do not work as I am disabled and only claim ESA and DLA, on which I only have around £35 left over every month0

Am I right in thinking he did pay you £1800? If so, he is entitled to his refund via the eBay Money Back Guarantee which eBay have issued him with because he did not receive the product (for whatever reasons).
If you have already spent the £1800 he paid you then there is nothing you can do but try and raise the funds to clear your debt.
I definitely do not think you should have spent the money before shipping the product out (or in your case, discussing and organising to see if this was possible).
Can you return the new products you have bought? If not, then sell them on to raise the funds, if there is a shortfall you could then try to approach PayPal to make arrangements for repayment.
Edit: PayPal may use a Debt Collection Agency but sometimes they are easier to deal with. It is advisable to keep all communication in writing (letter or email) so you can keep a paper trail.
Bailiffs will definitely not come to your door to try and repossess your goods at this stage. They can only come if they take your debt to court, which I highly doubt they will do if you are making arrangements to repay, then a CCJ is granted and you fail to keep up with repayments. It is a long way off and you'll be notified if they do take you to court and you will be able to make a defence.I AM DEBT FREE!0 -
So, did he ask those questions before or after he bought it? You haven't misled him in any way as far as I see it. I would call paypal and explain that he changed his mind after he bought it, surely thats not your fault?Loving the sunny days!0

Im confused. You said you didnt send the item to them. So sell the item and refund them.
The debt collectors wont care what benefits your on. For £1800 they wont give up easily.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

The OP "invested" the money in tat to resell on eBay.
Quite why they'd do that before they'd even sent the item, let alone confirmed it was received in good condition and the buyer was happy with it is anyones guess though.
Edit: Slightly misread what you were saying but yes, they just need to sell the guff they bought or the sub. It's not rocket science.0 -
So to summarise - youve defrauded a US buyer out of £1800, your committing tax and benefit fraud - and you want our help to avoid bailiffs :rotfl:
Surely this thread is another newbie wind up0 -
Just another bored troll. Sad people waste their time making these posts, how empty must their life be.0

Sounds like a right mess. Your only option is to refund the money paid and move on.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
