With various posts recently about investments showing that there is lack of understanding about investments and risk I thought this might be of interest.
I wouldn't recommend Nationwide as a provider as they have limited options available but the info might be of use to help understand some of the misconceptions about investing and the stock market.

    I wouldn't touch nationwide with a barge pole

    Overall, some decent points even if you have to chase links for details (such s pound cost averaging of reg small investments).

    I agree, Ithought it answered some of the questions raised here regularly quite well. I wouldn't use Nationwide but info is still worthwhile.

    Some of the points they cover are:
    • The stock market is like a casino
    • Investing is only for wealthy people
    • I haven’t got time to make lots of decisions about investments
