Royal Mail refusing to deliver mail since Christmas (ice) - anyone else affected?

Royal Mail have been refusing to deliver any post to this area since before Christmas, claiming that the roads are too icy and quoting Health and Safety.
We live in a very easily accessible village just a few miles from the Delivery Office, and no other deliveries (including Royal Mail's own Parcelforce operation) have been affected.
Life is perfectly normal in every way (no snow - just the usual slightly icy pavements and roads that you'd find anywhere at this time of year). The only abnormal thing is that Royal Mail have chosen not to deliver the mail for reasons best known to themselves.
Is anyone else having this problem? I'm in England, but does Scotland or the far north of England ever get any post?

try sending a special delivery to yourself, or better get someone to send you one, then you'll know if it's an official no delivery from that delivery office as you will e advised as such when paying, as the delivery would not be guaranteed next day OR the real reason, that a few posties have pulled a sickie and it's just they don't have the staff, if it's the latter, I doubt the manager has told the powers that be.0

So it's cheating Royal Mail managers fiddling the system - and my aim now will be to have them disciplined for it. If anyone further up in RM cares, that is!0 -
Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘Praise, Vent & Warnings’ board, where it is better suited.
