Christmas Ham Query

I wonder if anyone can offer advice. My DH bought an Orange, Honey & Rosemary Christmas Ham at Waitrose. Don't even ask how much it cost - it is the last time he gets sent shopping! It was my fault for not giving him more precise instructions. Anyway, I had expected a ham which I would cook (for the lovely stock). However, I see this one is pre-cooked. I wondered if it would be possible to wrap it in foil and gently heat it as I prefer it hot to cold, but obviously I don't want to spoil it. Also, can anyone suggest a good sauce? I would like a change from Cumberland Sauce.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

You can only safely re-heat a cooked meat once, so I'd only heat small bits as you're going to eat it & keep the rest cold (that way you can keep it for other meals/sandwiches etc).
I love mustard/marmalade glaze poured over gammon, but hubby's favourite is spiced apple/pear sauce.
Sounds like it was expensive...but I hope it's lovely!0 -
it sounds lovely - but I do understand you like to cook your own, as do I. like the above poster I would suggest just reheating portions. I do it in the microwave by putting slices (not overlapping) on the plate then giving it just one minute in the ding. I usually find this enough to reheat thoroughly without drying it out. (I have to do this with any cold sliced meat for grandson who HATES cold meat of any description).
I hope you enjoy every mouthful!0 -

And if its a big ham, you could slice it thickly and put some in the freezer for another time....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
