Hi Judi, glad your Mum is OK, isn't her hair pretty and such a lovely colour. I can't go grey gracefully because it isn't a nice colour at all, so my colour is courtesy of Recital:)

The children look as though they had a good time. I have never spent Christmas in a warm climate, but they look good in their Santa hats. I must say I feel a bit sorry for Santa, with everyone else in shorts. I hope he/she didn't have to keep his outfit on for too long.

Its a beautiful colour isn't it? I love silver hair. I am presuming when I go completely grey I will go the same colour as her and to be honest, I cant wait! I hate my hair as it is now.... salt and pepper they call it. Its neither one thing or the other. I normally take my comb with me when I visit her and just tidy her hair a little bit. They brush it for her in the morning but by the time I get so see her its a bit windswept.

My daughter said how hot it was but they spent a lot of time in the pool.

Oh and excuse me for creeping in a picture of Soldier.

  • Isn't he gorgeous, I bet you can't wait to scoop him up and cuddle him. I hope it won't be too long before you see DD and Soldier.

Hopefully it will be May when they come over for my youngest daughters wedding. Nanny Dudi (as he calls me) wants to give him a cuddle. It will break my heart to see him go though. At the moment the separation keeps my heart in check but once ive met him I know it will be whole new ball game.:(

Still black as Newgates knocker outside at the moment I hate these December days when its dark langer than its light. But not too cold at least.
It's the Solstice on Sunday, so after that, it'll start getting very gradually lighter again.:o I must admit, I find the long hours of darkness very difficult, also.

Hello! Hope everyone's had a great day. Feeling really tired today, so sat on the sofa and wrapped up all the pressies! Have also hoovered round, made a pasta bake for dinner tomorrow, and had a nice e-mail exchange with my brother.

Choir rehearsal tonight ready for carol concert on Saturday. Can't say 2.5 hours in a cold church really appeals this evening, especially as I have to be up stupid early for work tomorrow, but I'd better go. Work Xmas lunch down the pub tomorrow and I am leaving early to use up leave, so it will be a good day, methinks. DS13 and DH will be doing a Xmas disco for Youth Club tomorrow evening, not sure if I will be back in time to see them before they go.

Had prescriptions delivered from chemist around lunchtime and made DH stilton and broccoli soup for a late lunch.

Someone came to fix the pipes under the kitchen sink while I was out in Leeds getting some outdoor lights and decorating bits for DD as well as a present for another DH and a travel charger for a mobile phone.

We can't run the kitchen taps till tomorrow so instead of sausages and mash I settled for sausage sandwiches for tea. Brought in bottled water from garage to use and put chopping board over sink with a notice not to use the taps!!!

    Enjoy your time away.

    Hugs to all

  • Evening all
Hubby's been Father Christmas at the local nursery, the kids loved him.
I had a nana nap when I got in from work as it was a long day today, I was at work from 7:30 'til 5:30.
I have a beef casserole bubbling away for when hubby finishes at 10ish.
I've started a cream eyelash scarf for one of the DGD's, it should only take a couple of evenings to make.
BBird I hope you are ok?
Time i checked the casserole & did a bit of housework.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
