    Morning all,

I have taken the day off sick today I am still coughing terribly and am really feeling quite rotten, will have a rest day today and tomorrow i am on a course so hopefully by Thursday I will be feeling a lot better.

Have put a small wash on and will hang it on the airers today, will see if mum has any too.

We have some beef skirt and oxtail for dinner which I will make into a casserole, will go and put it in the sc after this.

Am getting worried about mum for the first time ever she has a little bit of money behind her and my brother seems determined to get it off of her, my sister and I are so worried, he has had thousands out of her over the years and would not stop till he has had the lot, we ned to think of a way to protect it for her.

Right better get on. Happy Birthday to Nelski xx

Jackie enjoy your day with DGS xxx

Got appointment at 10am yesterday so really fast, the doctor said that it is an infected bite and the poison has got all down my face and into my lymph nodes so I am on a high dose of clarithromycin to try to knock it out quickly, got told off for not going sooner because of the diabetes :o I said about my glucose being high and she said that it was a result of the infection and not to worry, but to test at least twice a day. Plenty of rest and fluids and if I feel no better after tomorrow I have to go back to see her as an emergency appointment.

Lord knows what it was that bit me

DGodson passed his driving test yesterday :j and his Dad came for the car that we have had hiding in plain sight on our drive for six months :rotfl:
He said he will be glad to see him in a car this time of year and not on his motorbike.

I wouldn't want my DS on one either :( I lost too many friends in the eighties to motorbike accidents :(

One load of washing to do so that will go on the airers, it is too cold and damp for anything to dry on the line.

I must go and get a good stock of food for the birds, especially if winter is going to be as bad as they are forecasting.
We have had lots of sparrows, coal tits, blue tits, goldfinches, our resident robin, our resident blackbird family who lives in the hypernicum which is an evergreen and a couple of wrens this morning :D
Not to mention the starlings, magpies, gulls and pigeons. Gulls are surprising especially as we live over 68 miles from our nearest coast

Only 4 degrees C here today, so I have lit the stove to keep me warm, The heating only goes on early morning and a couple of hours per night.

Right off to warm myself in front of the fire and get some filing and paperwork done. Well it is restingish ;)

    BFN xx

    Happy birthday Nelski!. _party_

Am knee deep in negotiations with 'he who works' Looks like our broadband supplier is increasing its charges.

'I ay payin it' he says.

'But if you cancel the contract and rejoin you can have the same thing for £28.50 instead of £40' says me. 'Except we lose the phone line that we don't use anyway'.

He's all for telling them where to stick it! :(

Still, ive got a 12 month contract on me phone if all else fails.:D

Such a load of drama for nothing.

  • Hi Judi, how is your Mum, have you been able to see her yet this week?

I know she won't know much about Christmas, but do the residents have a good time in the home and is she any warmer? I say this because I was always a person who never felt the cold, but my goodness I feel it now. My Mum used to say that your blood thins as you become older, now I don't know whether that is a medical fact or an old wives tale but I certainly feel the cold now.

Hope the children in the Baby House are OK

Hi Candlelight I went to see Mum last Thursday taking my Grandson with me. I shall probably go and see her tomorrow or Friday. She was really happy. Happiest ive seen her since she's been in there. She's still put herself in isolation though since all the other residents annoy her. She makes grand yakking gestures with her hands but then spends a lot of time whistling for attention.

They have already got the Christmas tree up in the home. They usually have a grand Christmas dinner and the salvation army come to sing a few carols. I was pleased to see she was wearing the wrap I bought her for Christmas. I gave it her early because whenever I go she's got her hands in her sleeves.

The babies are doing well at the Baby House thanks. They had their Christmas party on Sunday. Just the girls, carers, family and friends.

  • Hi Judi, glad your Mum is OK, isn't her hair pretty and such a lovely colour. I can't go grey gracefully because it isn't a nice colour at all, so my colour is courtesy of Recital:)

The children look as though they had a good time. I have never spent Christmas in a warm climate, but they look good in their Santa hats. I must say I feel a bit sorry for Santa, with everyone else in shorts. I hope he/she didn't have to keep his outfit on for too long.

    Afternoon everyone

Haven’t been on here in ages as seem to have lost my os ways as other things getting in the way etc. etc. But I do like reading the threads as it makes my life a little bit more cheerful, so have decided to try and come back on here, read and reply.

Nowt much os for me today as am at work (used to work three days a week, now I work four). And I did go to McDs this morning, tut tut, but I was hungry.

Do have an os mission tomorrow where I get to reduce my mobile contract down from £30 to £12.50 when I can upgrade. Whoo hoo!

My mum does all my os for me, haha as she is at my house most of the time looking after my two girls.

Dinner for girls tonight as far as I know is fish bites, chips and some kind of veg (this was supposed to be last night’s dinner, but their dad rang up and asked to have them for dinner – always good as dinners just get rolled over to the next day when he does this).

My os contribution for the year is my girls’ xmas pressies. I know they are still at the stage where they find anything interesting, but are starting to get a bit more aware of what they want. This year my dad went in to the loft at my parents’ house and dragged out a load of stuff from when I was a kid. I have sorted it all and actually found a pile of games that are suitable for them. Great!

We have one of those candles which has numbers on it and you burn every night up till Christmas. The girls love it, but mum has forgotten where she bought it from. I’ll have to have a looksee for next year.

Tru – I love doing things like that, but don’t have anyone to do it with :o Hope you have a great day!

JackieO – must admit I am finding it hard to get up in the mornings. Just when my kids are actually wanting to stay in bed past 5am as well, damn it! Haha.

Hilstep2000 – enjoy the play! I went to see my girlies last Friday. It’s nice now they’re in the same school, one in Yr1 and the other Nursery, so quite tiny still. Wasn’t allowed to take any pictures which was understandable, but thought I might be able to take a couple after the play. Have seen everyone else I know putting pictures up on FB of their littlies.

Butterfly brain – I know what you mean about the gulls. I work in central london and there was a time a few years ago when you had to look out the door before going out as the gulls would bombard you! Especially if you had a small dog like my boss, it was madness!
