Hairdressers in East midlands Nottingham or derby?

Hi I have been to sassoon's in Nottingham a few times and I get a very good professional cut and pay £70. But at 63 and living on pension I'm wondering if I can get as good a quality haircut for less money - or do you get what you pay for? I've had lots of mediocre cuts in salons which are cheaper where I've ended up with one side longer than the other or bits sticking out,
What do you think?
Thanks for any replies suggestions etc

137 viewings and 1 reply, thank you Abbiecadabra!
I'm feeling lonely, I thought, at the least, someone might have said hello. I thought this was a friendly site .....0 -
Why not ask people whose hair you like where they go?But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

It's not a chat I want from this posting, I want advice and peoples opinions in response to my question. What I am assuming and this is based on my experience of other forums is that if you're new to the forum people usually say hello and welcome to you0 -

Oh, right. Well, don't take it personally, I think it's just that there are so many new members registering all the time (it is a HUGE site) that it's hard to keep track of people.
Regarding your haircut, I'd say to go by the hairdresser rather than the salon. If you've found someone who does your hair the way you like it, it's worth trying to stick with them. But you don't always get what you pay for with hairdressers. I paid for a Toni & Guy haircut once (about £45) and it was nothing special. I've also paid just £10 to an independent hairdresser and he gave me a fab cut.0 -
Try Hairven in Gedling Nottingham - amazing place fantastic customer service won loads of awards and not mega expensive either.
I have never been happy with a hairdresser until I found these guys.

Thanks Macca
I've heard of hairven - can you recommend a stylists? 0 -
I'm also looking for somewhere new in Nottingham. I used to go to Zoe at Sassoon Studio, and whilst she is good she's certainly not £70 worth of good! At present I can only suggest where *not* to go - H20 off Bridlesmith Gate and Urban Therapy - poor experiences at both and they were more interested in being defensive than sorting out their mess. Let us know how you get on at your next attempt?

Hello Itsnell and welcome. I have bits sticking out and one side longer than the other, that's because I cut my own hair.
I'm a pensioner, and there's no way I would ever pay £70 for a cut, even when I was working. As someone said, ask in the area where you live. I am in North Lincolnshire so can't help you, sorry. Good luck.
IlonaI love skip diving.
