Floor plans changed after reserving house

Hi
Last week we reserved a new build house. When we reserved the sales rep told us they were considering changing an internal wall for one of the bedrooms, and asked if we wanted to keep it the same as the original plans or go with the proposed changes. We asked for the architects plans for the house with the wall moved. The sales rep didn't have the plans so we agreed that she would send them over to us and we'd let her know how we wanted to proceed.
Today I find out that they've already put the walls in as per the new plans. We still don't have the new plans so I don't know what they've actually changed. I'm annoyed about this as we thought we would at least be shown the changes before they go ahead. I have no trust in this house builder that they won't change other things in the house.
What are my options, if any? I didn't think the house builder could change anything without our permission especially since we have reserved.
Thanks!

Have you exchanged contracts with the builder yet?
If you have only reserved the plot then don’t really have much control. They usually have small print on the reservation form that details that layouts are for illustration purposes only and changes can happen. If you have exchanged contracts then you should of been sent a copy of the revised plans to be signed
My personal advice after purchasing a new build property earlier this year. Would be to walk away while you can and get your reservation money back. If you’ve lost trust with them, it’ll only get worse when they have your money.0 -
Are you close enough to the site to visit easily again and see what they've done & whether you like it?
If it's just an upstairs stud wall, it should be easy enough for them to move back to the original plan location if you tell them soon enough?
Like windriders says, though, it doesn't feel good if you cannot trust them.0 -
what have you signed?0

We have so far paid a £500 reservation fee and paid for some extras (tiles, lights, radiators). The reservation fee is refundable less an admin fee but the extras are all non-refundable.
I'm going to see them on Sunday to see what they've done exactly. The plans we have been given look like proper architect drawings including wiring for lights, electrical points, loads and loads of measurements. I didn't think these were for illustrative purposes though.0 -
Maybe you will find out that the new layout works much better for you. It may not necessarily be a bad thing.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

If they have changed the plans after you have reserved, and they are not suitable for you, then they should refund you in full for everything.0
