12 month internship in Caribean - what medical/travel insurance?

My daughter is going on a 12 month intern ship on a Caribbean island early next year. She will need travel insurance for the whole year and medical insurance also, unless travel insurance covers this?
Can anyone advise on what is best and any recommendations would be very gratefully received. Apologies in advance as I am a noob at this!

Travel insurance is unlikely to be appropriate for this, although it may be a slightly grey area if the internship is unpaid. Really the organisation offering the work should be advising (and preferably paying for) on what health insurance is required, it will probably have to be taken out locally.0

Failing this, check out Backpacker travel insurance from a company such as Columbus. Explain carefully what she will be doing, since work presents different risks than being on holiday.
If she is going to Cuba then she will automatically be covered by the health system there...0
