How can i tell how much my credit limit will be?

I currently have 4k outstanding on my current credit card on which my 0% interest period has just ran out. I want to take a new 0% card and transfer my 4k balance to that.

Problem is when applying for a new card will it show what the credit limit will be during the applying stage? I don't want to be in a position where the new card will not have a high enough limit to transfer my current 4k balance to

You won't know until you're accepted. But you take it and transfer as much as you can. You could always apply for another card.

Actually Nationwide will tell you your credit limit for their cards before they even hard search you. Makes them one of the best card providers in my opinion.

Bank of Scotland card also told me my limit after a hard search but before completing the application. It's likely that other BOS group cards may do this too Halifax, Lloyds but I haven't seen this first hand.
