Unconfirmed PayPal Address - Overseas

Hi all,

I put a £600 item up for sale on eBay at the weekend with a Buy it Now price and a Best Offer Option. An interested buyer contacted me yesterday and asked if I would send the item to Poland if they paid the extra. I checked their profile and they are from London. They clearly have a Polish name, and they have over 250 positive feedback. I responded saying that as long as the delivery address is on the paypal payment then, yes, not a problem.

I figured I could transfer the funds from PayPal to my bank and then send it when I receive the money.

So, after some negotiation on price, the buyer makes an offer and I accept. I send a total amount including the delivery cost to Poland and he paid by PayPal.

The Polish address is on the eBay transaction details and the PayPal payment, however, according to PayPal the address is unconfirmed and as such it says I am not covered by seller protection.

I have spoken to the buyer on the phone and he seems genuine enough but on top of the address issue, PayPal are holding the payment for 21 days as I'm a new seller.

I have told the buyer I am uncomfortable with sending the item to an unconfirmed address given the value of item but just wondered if there's any way the buyer can confirm the address after payment has been made?

Thanks

  • NO , contact him and say you will send to his confirmed address in London , THEN he can forward it on , refund his money now

Thanks. I have just got off the phone to PayPal who advised not sending to the address is Poland. I have said to the buyer I am happy to send to Poland if he pays by my company card processing facilities or bank transfer.

Could you use the Global Shipping Programme on eBay? Get the buyer to accept cancellation of the order and refund it, opt in to GSP and let him buy it through that so eBay deals with the international postage?
