Moving abroad... .

My girlfriend and I are hoping move abroad to Prague in a couple of months (maybe staying there for a year...) and I want to sort out my banking here before I go. Obviously I will open a bank account when I'm there but I was wondering what I should do about my current British accounts. I have a graduate account at HSBC, a current account at Nationwide, plus a number of credit cards. Will I be able to keep these accounts and credit cards despite no longer being a UK resident...? I'm also aware that I probably won't be able to open anything new while away. Are there any credit cards and accounts I must have...? I was considering a cashback credit card... . Any thoughts and advice would be appreciated please... .

Keep your UK bank accounts and credit cards open - if you close them you may have problems reopening them when you come back.
It would also be a good idea to open a bank/credit card account in the Czech Republic and use that for all your spending there.
If you wish to use a UK debit/credit card there in the meantime (before your Czech accounts are ready) use/obtain a Nationwide debit and credit card - Nationwide is the best choice for use abroad as they charge no fees on their exchange rates unlike most other cards.
