I've heard good things about New Zealand.
  • There's no need to shout...
  • lol why so serious- im not looking to move at all, its just a general question.
  • It's cheaper to live in N.Ireland (and possibly Scotland, but I wouldn't know) than many places in England. The people are very nice, housing isn't extortionate, education isn't too bad, healthcare... hmmm maybe not great, but still NHS.

There are disadvantages to living here too, but you get disadvantages anywhere. Lots of young people leave N.Ireland because there are few opportunities here and still a lot of bigotry and terrible politics to contend with. It certainly wouldn't be an "English" life if you move anywhere else, there will be changes involved with moving anywhere.

I wouldn't want to live somewhere based solely on money. Somewhere you plan to spend the rest of your life should be based on what you like doing, or maybe even the kind of weather you want! Is it not possible to find out where the cheapest place in England is to live and go there?

If you crave the English life, stay in England. Everywhere else will seem like a disappoinment eventually, and when that eventually hits you, you may not be able to afford to move back.

i agree with you - its not wise to live somewhere solely for money, you wont be happy.

I am married to a Pakistani man who family are fithly rich in Pakistan. I'm talking maids, cook, gold jewellery, fine clothes.

Apart from their very large main house they have a holiday home with about 20 acres of land (and more sheep/goats and cows and chickens them you can count, lol),

3 cars - 1 sports car, 1 small car and 1 4X4 plus a motor bike. the funny thing is there are only three people in the family!!!

i cant speak the language, not a fan of curry plus in summers it too hot.
Its very nice but i could never move there.

But according to your first post it doesn't meet your criteria anyway:

I doubt very much if you would get anywhere near 'the English life' in Pakistan. smiley-confused013.gif

You may class (as an example) Spain or Greece as English-speaking but you will find if you live in a rural area, most people will speak their own language.

Where does your husband want to live?

I've just noticed that you don't want to move - it's just a 'general question'.

    Why ask it then?
