looking for cheap breakdown cover

Hi guys

I need your help, I'm looking for a good value of a breakdown cover that will cover on home start, onward start and national cover.

I'm currently with rescuemycar for the year and I would like to pay on monthly to get a breakdown cover for 5 months before I will get one year breakdown cover. The reason I want to do this is because I'm changing my insurance payment to monthly until the end of May and then I will do for the year to get out of the way of December which is the worse month part of the year when the time come close to Christmas.

Do you know what breakdown cover company are the cheapest company that I should go with that will do all the cover I need and i can pay on monthly?

I'm paying £10 a month for personal cover with the AA.

Basis of this is that £10 a month isn't bad and, although you could shop around and pay half that price, you'll wish you hadn't if you ever found yourself stranded and waiting hours for [insert budget name here] to get someone out to you.

Any company that would let you pay monthly is likely to work out much more expensive over a year I think. So really the best moneysaving plan is to just buy year's cover now. Given we're talking £30-£40 here, is it possible you could factor this into your pre-Christmas budget?

Does your current insurance policy expire at the end of May? Hopefully it does, but if not then trying to switch like this may cost you more money I'm afraid. When you standardly pay car insurance monthly what you are doing is paying for 1 year's insurance in 12 installments, not paying for each month as it comes on a rolling basis, meaning you can't usually just stop it whenever you fancy without penalty. Hope that makes sense.
