Car insurance quote not held for 30 days
I used Martin's tips to get a car quote from the Post Office (email newsletter 29/10/14). They said they would hold it for 30 days on 29 October. Today I rang to pay for it and they said they had no obligation to hold the price, which has now increased by £100 in less than a week. I have reported the matter to Citizen's Advice and Trading Standards and am now awaiting a chat transcript as I am told that if I can prove they said they would keep the quote for 30 days, then they have provided misleading information if they do not hold to this. Has anyone else had this problem?

In what way did they say they would hold it for 30 days?
You would need to register a complaint with them and escalate it to the FOS if you arent happy with their response as this is the route for complaints about insurers or brokers rather than TS0 -
Can you retrieve the quote online?0

As above did you get a quote reference? Use that to take out the new policy.
They may have done a new quote, Or have you/they made changes to the original quote?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If it were me, I wouldn't be bothered with all the hassle of filing official complaints.. I'd just vote with my feet and take my custom elsewhere.0
