How are 'days to dispatch' counted?

I've had a look through previous posts but I can't quite find a definitive answer, if there is one.

Could somebody please explain how eBay define the different dispatch times? I'm aware that these probably don't match other retail sites due to their definition of 'business day' extending until 23.59.

When counting how many business days to dispatch, do they count the day of the order as the first day? For example, 3 day dispatch time, item ordered at any time on Monday, does that mean dispatch by Wednesday (Mon=1, Tue=2, Wed=3) or dispatch by Thursday (Mon=0, Tue=1, Wed=2, Thu=3)?

If the day of order is counted as day 1, does that mean same day and 1 day dispatch are the same thing?

I keep thinking I've got it sorted in my head but then I start doubting myself and Googling doesn't help.

As far as I'm aware, day of purchase is day 0, and Saturday and Sunday aren't working days.

Thank you. That's what I thought and I checked our listings and that seems to be how eBay have added it up, but then every now and then I'll read something else and get confused again!

I won the item 5 minutes ago and paid instantly. Ebay tell me i should have received it by now. Why have i not received it?

I think the dispatch and postage times are one of the top grumbles from sellers.
