Threading - It might be just me but....

Here's the thing.

I get my eyebrows trimmed and threaded about once a month.

Apart from the "walking away looking as if I've paid to be punched in the face" thing, the same thing happens every time.

When I'm being threaded, the right side of my face hurts more than my left.

Every time.

Different threaders, different 'times of the month', same techniques but the same result.

I always have ask the ladies to stop part way through my right side as it's so painful, I have to catch my breath.

Whether it's left or right side first, it doesn't matter.

I'm left handed by the way.

Has anyone else noticed anything like this?

Or is it just me?

:o
 Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway...

Have you noticed if there is more hair on this side? I always seem to grow more eyebrow hair on on side than the other, so whether I pluck myself or get them threaded one side seems to need more work than the other

It doesn't happen to me, but I was once asked by a beautician who was waxing my legs whether it hurt me more on one leg than the other. She said she'd found it quite common for people to have that.
  • We are not perfectly symmetrical creatures and so its probably more likely that things will be slightly different than the same. Now if its different enough to make a material/ noticeable difference is another matter.

Was at a traditional English shoe makers the other night and they dont ask you your size but measure you each time. Mrs was very distressed to notice that her left foot is amount 1/3rd a size bigger than her right

My eyelashes are longer on the right side than on the left.

Ironically, it's the left side lashes that scrape the inside of my glasses, leaving my vision blurred.

But no, no more hair, just longer, requiring trimming as well as threading.

I can't answer your question directly but I have my eyebrows waxed and definitely no more pain/feeling on one side than the other.

If threading is uncomfortable maybe give waxing a try.

I've not had threading done for over a year now, I find it soooo painful! I wish I could tolerate it better but prefer waxing much more because I don't really feel the pain at all. Tweezing as well. I also find one side of my face will hurt more than the other, I've not really logged weather or not it's down to the same side or not but do know that each side will feel different. I've always put it down to TOTM but I tend to blame everything pain or appetite related on this!

I tried threading but just like plucking, it made me sneeze! I swear my body must be wired up wrong ...

Treading leaves me red and swollen for a few hours and you can see the effects of waxing well into the next day.....

I just got my eyebrows threaded yesterday. Never notice any difference when she is doing them.
