we are going to lapland for xmas this year, we booked it back in jan 07 as they get booked up that early, we are going for a week staying in yllas in a log cabin, we have gone with Ingrams, for xmas week, with flights and the cabin it cost us £2200 for 4 of us (2 adults and 2 children), then on top of that there are all the excussions, we are budgeting for about another £800 on those, doing a santa trip, husky trip, raindeer trip, hire a snow-mobile for a day ad go to the ice hotel and go ice fishing. You can also do these trips from less time with shorter versions of these excusions, there are loads and loads of places that do these but they are so expensive in comparison to the week stay that we are doing. If you are looking to do a week then you may have problems as the flights are booked up from what I know but check out companies such as inghams, crystel adn nelisens (they are all ski tour ops), and if you are going for the shorter option then just search google but I know that Inghams are doing a shorter trip so check them out tooI would recommend that you check out the lapland (finland) forums on tripadvisor as there are many threads on there about the optionsIf you still want to go then I would suggest you get planning it now, also remember about the added cost of the clothing, which you can hire if you want to, you have to be prepaired for the weather which can be -30 hope this helps

I took both my children there in 2002. It was the best day out ever and they still mention it on a daily basis even now. Back then I paid £250 per person and that was for 2 nights in a log cabin, a reindeer ride, 1 meal each and flights and transfers from the airport. There was an all inlclusive option which was £350 each which also included the hire of the snow suits, more meals and a Lapland experience. It's also cheaper if you leave certain things till you get there as I found the reindeer rides were cheaper if you paid for them there than they were paying in advance at the travel agents. I went with Canterbury Travel but there are loads of companies which do it.

Hi Lapland UK does not open in summer but on the 24 November this year, their online booking system opened in summer for the first time and more than 40% of the tickets have apparetnly already gone! Just thought I would let you know as I think it will be sold out by end September this year.
