The best way to pay a debt collector

Hi,
I have negotiated a partial settlement with Cabot Financial.
What is the best way to pay the agreed amount safely?
I would prefer not to use my own debit card or personal cheques as I am concerned my details may be used fraudulently. I have considered a bank transfer but I am hesitant in that they may deny that they received it. I need a safe, reliable method which is clearly audited and can be easily proven in the future should this debt "reappear".
What do other members suggest?
Thanks.

I would send them a cheque, I don't really see how they could use your details fraudulently. Alternitavely you could get a bankers draft but you will pay a charge for one of those.

I would pay directly into their account using Faster Payments. The payment will show on your bank statement so there is no issue with proving it has been paid.xxx Nikki xxx0
