Basic bank account for business

HI

Can anyone out there tell me if there is such a thing as a basic bank account for business. My husband and myself are going to start driving instructing towards the end of the year and need accounts to pay in and out of but don't need any fancy debit cards or cheque books etc.

Lloyds TSB don't offer a basic business account but you can choose what facilities are provided to you (debit card, etc).

If you have a poor credit rating, explain to them that you dont want any credit facilities etc and you stand a good chance of being accepted.

you WILL face a credit check with all of the banks.

I have business account with Abbey which is my bank for everything else.

You might want to do it with your own bank as they already know you. My Business account with Abbey is totally free of fees.

Other options are to go via accountants like manager.co.uk, they have a deal with private banks like CaterAllen where they get a kickback from the bank for bringing new clients in. I don't think the credit check is as harsh as regular high street banks.
