    Any warranty, guarantee that Samsung offer runs alongside SOGA; those rights are in addition to, they do not replace, your statutory rights.

    Yes, that's what Bris said.

    Bottom line is the warranty is above your statutory rights and the terms they impose are strict.

    No need to come across as a pompous git just to reiterate someone elses's point.

    OP, what on earth possessed you to tell them that you have been using a Blackberry charger? It doesn't matter that it's a Blackberry branded charger, it isn't a Samsung charger.

    You could try returning it to the retailer and hope that they replace or repair it without going through Samsung, other than that I think you're stuffed ubless you can get an independent report stating that there is an inherent fault not related to using a non-Samsung charger.

    This is the applicable section of the warranty:
    What is not covered?

    This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use of the Product.
    This Limited Warranty does not cover: (f) defects or damage resulting from the use of Product in conjunction or connection with accessories, products, or ancillary/peripheral equipment not furnished or approved by SAMSUNG;
    Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear

    'The bit faster' is the key failing here, the higher power rating is probably not tested or rated as fine with you device - hence the power issues that you may have noted as its likely damaged the battery over prolonged use. as you were charging with a 2amp charger when the manufacturers charger would have just been 1amp...

    The Blackberry Playbook is Blackberry's now-defunct tablet. The AC Adapter is known for charging MicroUSB devices that bit faster than conventional mobile AC Adapters.

    But chargers do not supply the stated amperes regardless.

    All the stated figure means is that the charger is capable of supplying that current if asked to do so by the connected device.

    In other words, a charger rated at two amps, or even 10amps, would be perfectly suitable for charging a device that only required one amp.
