How long to settle your Paypal dispute for fake items?

Hi folks!

I just lodge a paypal dispute as I have just been a victim of a seller of fake clothing. How long has it taken for you to get your money back? It's a fair deal of money involved and I am hoping it is returned soon. Thanks!

Also was your claim refunded in full inclusive of postage? Thanks!

You will be asked to take the item to an expert in whatever it is you have bought and to obtain a written declaration, complete with name, address and telephone number so that it can be verified.

It took me 6 weeks to get to this stage alone.

Paypal gave me 7 days to get the letter of declaration.


I could not get anyone to commit themselves to saying that the item was counterfeit (in my case) since the item WAS counterfeit but who was going to prove who copied it?

So, cannot give any further info.

I bought some Timberland boots off ebay nearly 2 years ago and they were copies. It took me a long while to get my money back but I did eventually. I had to get proof also from a recognised company to prove they were fakes. I'd recommend you have a read up on Paypal as I know the time scales have changed. My sister recently lost a dispute as she didn't upgrade the complaint to a 'dispute'.
