Hi, not sure if this is the right board but wondered if anybody could give me some advice for my son.
My son has bought a second hand car (05 reg). He bought this 3 weeks ago yesterday on finance and stupidly with no advice from anybody!! After much discussion! with him he has now agreed that he can't actually afford the £200 per month over 5 years. He has asked the garage if they have a cooling off period and was told no. He has also asked if they would buy it back and was told they would but he would then owe them about £1000 but also to wait till next month! but unsure why.
Does anybody have any advice I could pass on?
Please please could you help!

Hmm not really sure, have you tried asking on the motors board?
I'm pretty sure you get 14 days cooling off on ANY credit agreement thoughNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
if it is over 14 days ago since he took out the finance agreement, he might not have a leg to stand on for them just to take it back.
There should be a cooling off period, what does the credit agreement say?
