Sweb Help
I owe Sweb about £250 for gas......I only use a Gas Fire and won't need it for 6 months now.
They have been sending threatening letters for months, telling me they will get someone to fit a meter etc etc.....no-one ever turns up when it's arranged!
I even suggested dates........no reply and no-one turned up.
I WANT this meter, it will include my debt, but for 6 months i won't be using anything so the small bits i put on my card will pay the debt slowly.
They even sent my prepay card......but still no meter.
Do they often threaten a meter and nothing happens? This has been going on for months!

The gas industry is a nightmare. The pipe to the house, the meter and the gas supplier are different companies. Those companies are themselves split up into divisions and some divisions use sub contractors.
To answer your question. Yes its perfectly normal for no one to turn up.
However. If you have debt problems you should be getting your gas the cheapest you can. You should therefore pay by monthly direct debit. Call SWEB and cancel your new meter (prepay meters of this type are dear) and arrange to pay by DD. As you are in debt to them you will need to overpay on your expected yearly usage. I'm guessing but an extra £20 per month should be acceptable.

Thanks, I'll contact them re:Direct Debit and see what they say.
Until my Incapacity benefit is sorted it will be a tight squeeze but it'll probably take them a while to sort it IF they sort it0 -
