I bought a new car on 1st September - which came with a tax disk
Can I legally remove the disk now or is that only on post October 1st purchases ?
Plus - I am assuming that DVLA are still sending out reminders when tax is due ?

You can remove all tax discs now.

Although not many drivers seem to know this, judging by how many are still displaying their discs.

That for sure; but why would you bother removing it?

Or don't seem to care, on a trip to the supermarket this morning, I only noticed 2 cars without a disc on display, BTW I have not removed my expired disc.

I already have more than enough stickers, passes, tolls and such, so that one less is a blessing.

    Huh?

You must have about 20 or 30 windscreen stickers dotted around the frame for this to be of any concern!

What on earth are they all for?????????

I'm not removing mine because in exchange for this small round textured bit of paper was £100 and I just can't seem to bring myself to throwing it in the bin and mentally throwing away the £100 with it, despite the fact i'm fully aware the paper itself is effectively no more than a receipt.

So for me, it's staying in until it expires. Maybe even beyond that. Infact it'll probably still be there when we sell the car eventually.

So not necessarily a case of not knowing as one poster suggested, but not caring.

Of which a number aren't necessary and a couple can just be put in a pouch and moved about when actually needed.
