I think it depends on the quality of signal, if the signal dropped out halfway through an update it could cause problems.
If it was me I'd stick to wifi.

Don't forget your phone is likely to have a lot less memory than that so it could never really be an issue to download updates..

eg a 16gb phone filled with apps could each update over 60 times a month and still not come close to using that much data.

Im on the 3 tariff with unlimited data (1000gb the fair usage policy), have my apps to update automatically, use spotify and other streaming services daily and have never really used over 30gb in a month.. and that includes having it tethered to my ipad too..

Yes it should but given the option I would prefer a clean update.

Thank you everyone, I have swiched phone to update apps over data. Hopefully this will mean they will update one at a time rather than a whole bunch updating everytime I connect to wifi.

They should all update together, 20, 30, 40, however many at a time.

That's what happens on my iPhone and Moto G over mobile data.

Hopefully they'll update when my phones sat on my desk at work not doing anything.

If you have set them to update automatically then they will do it whenever.

Its worked 3 apps automatically updated while it was sat on my desk doing nothing and very little data used

In month of Feb or March i have used more then 80GB of data. so i think u will be just fine
