Chevy Spark, anyone?

Wondering if anyone's got any experiences of the Chevy Spark?

My old Fiesta made an attempt on my life (fuel all over the engine block ) so I've decided to treat myself and get a decent set of wheels as I do a lot of driving.

I've fallen a bit in love with a Spark LS - but would like opinions from anyone who's driven one?

(Disclaimer - I don't want an M3 ;) )

Can't help with the driving thing as I've never sat in one. How much and what age? I'd be wanting a massive discount as chevrolet are pulling out from the UK, parts should be ok to come by but there may be a wait on certain ones. Not sure who looks after the warranty, perhaps vauxhall garages.

Are you sure you don't want an M3?
  • The specific one I'm looking at is 11 reg, 33k miles, £3800, which I really don't think is too bad :)

Am just not an M3 type of girl ;)

£3800 seems a decent price, I'd still be aiming for £3600 though ;)

Don't let the dealer try and keep the price high because it comes with their 12 month warranty - it'll be sh*t, say thanks but no thanks. Chances are if there are any major problems they'll appear in the first month or so in which case you have the SOGA on your side.
  • Can try and flutter the eyelashes :) thank you!

There are lots of good cars around that price. Chervolet is good but ..... they have been rumouring to be pulling out of the UK for years. I would look at something else personally. Ford Ka fab & cheap. Citroen ??? Skoda, Kia ??? there are loads and loads but I would be concerned about buying something that could end up along the lines of Saab.

    That's fine, I intend this being a 5-10 year car :)

Other cars I've looked at are C1/107, but nothing's grabbed me like the Spark :)

Isn't this the Daewoo Matiz reborn? They are very small. Read some reviews to see whether it will suit you.

  • Get a Spark and don't be a sheep by getting a Ka or a C1/107 etc. Always nice to have something different and not in the norm. :)

So what if Chevrolet are pulling out of the UK, does that make the car instantly crap?

A relative has a 2006 Chev Matiz (not the old Daewoo one) and he says it's the best car he's had in a while.
