Final payment made!

Today I am delighted to say we have made our final payment on this debt free journey! In total we have repaid £10,092.14 to 2 overdrafts and 3 credit cards over 9 months. We have also paid off our sofa finance.
While we are not totally debt free – we still have a car loan and a mortgage – we have freed ourselves up so much more than we ever thought possible. Over the past 9 months we have been paying on average £1100 a month to our unnecessary debts! Crazy!
Next step… we are going to have a holiday in December to Tenerife, paid for in full. £750 as my dad has offered to pay for my daughter. This weeks holiday and spending money totals just 1 month of our last 9 months paying to debts! Whilst also working through our debt free journey, we have had some highs and lows. We found out I was pregnant, then I sadly lost the baby. So a holiday is just what we all need to treat ourselves. After that we are going to re-evaluate our current SOA and adjust a few values which were cut right back to give us a little more play. This will include a considerable £8-900 going into savings which we have never had.
What a tough journey, lots of tears, tantrums and hardship but sooo worth it! However a positive is that we have completely changed our attitude towards money. We live by the piggybanking method and I think it is fantastic.
Thank you to those who have offered support and advice and for words of encouragement. The Debt Free Wannabe board has replaced my online shopping habit! Good luck to those still working through their journeys, no matter how big or small, its all worth it in the end J
