Brake caliper creaking badly

Hey gang.. wassup?!

T reg honda civic.. (auto)

Front driver side brake caliper keeps making a creaking / grinding sound. Creaking is worse than the grinding but it only does it when the pedal is pressed.

So, we got the discs and pads changed. Still does it.

Thinking perhaps our local spanner monkey might of done something silly i've had it all apart - sliding pins ok, pads new, discs new, caliper bracket seems ok..

So with wheel off, had the thing running with the disk turning. Hit the brakes and it comes back and you can see the whole assembly kind of moving. My neighbour says the pisting is moving back and forth. When you look at it you can clearly see something isn't right and it almost seems like the disk is a bit fat on one spot and won't go through the pads. This can't be the case though - it did it with the old pads and discs!

So, i grabbed the impact screwdriver and took off the discs expecting to see rust on the face of the hub / disc (thinking it might be forcing the disc out slightly)... nothing - perfectly clean and nice looking :mad:

So.. what is doing this? - I'm utterly stumped!

Creaking and groaning from the front end would make me check out the suspension bushes and ball joints before suspecting a wayward caliper. It may well be partially seized, but it could also be the hub apparently canting over on braking because of a loose bottom joint.
