RAC auto renew warning

Hi all
Just wanted to pass on a warning to anyone who thinks they cancelled their RAC breakdown auto renewal. Check your bank account.

In September 2013, I got them to reduce the jaw dropping renewal price. At the same time, I cancelled the auto renew and told them about my new address. They were supposed to contact me with a quote in 2014.

In September 2014, they removed nearly £200 from my bank account with nether permission nor warning.

After many phone calls, they finally listened to the phone call (thank gooness they recorded it) and they admitted that they had been told about but had not actioned the information I had given them. Something about changing over to a new system.

I was promised a cheque within two weeks because although they can dip my bank account instantly, they can only pay back by cheque and the cheque run (?) only happens on a Thursday.

Nearly 3 weeks and many calls later, I am still waiting for the cheque. This is a full week's wages for me and I resent their attitute and lack of concern.

Beware of the RAC.
