BPO Collections and Motormile Finance

Just received a letter from BPO collections claiming I owe £403 on behalf of MMF.

I've never heard from either before today and don't have a clue what it will be for. There is nothing on my credit report for that amount and I can't see any searches by them either.

I do have one default on my account that is due to go next month for £97.

This all seems dodgy to me all my bills get paid as I would love to have the credit to eventually buy a house or a car!

Anyone know where I should go from this? I have emailed both companies asking for info in the meantime.

Right I've rung MMF and spoke to someone, didn't admit a thing didn't provide contact details only my name and DOB.

Apparently it's for a Littlewoods catalogue that I had in 2005 defaulted and they reckon they bought the debt in 2012... there's absolutely no record on my file for this. I do know that I had a default come off my file around February for la redoutte and one to come off next month for £97 that was virgin media.

There is no traces at all of a Littlewoods catalogue on my file, I've had experian, call credit, noddle and I pay a monthly subscription to check my file and nothing..

Surely they cannot chase what doesn't exist? I'm going to print the letter from above and send that too, I threatened to go to the ombudsman whilst on the phone from then he wasn't impressed.
