Hoping someone can help. I've been stupid and not budgeted well - rent due soon and I'm about £100 short, don't wanna borrow off friends/family as was in major difficulties last year when graduated and still paying that off. Have tried looking online but to no avail, everyone needs me to have a debit card or cheque book which I don't - I have a simple cash card savings account - the idea was to stop me over spending as working in cash all the time. Can anyone advise.? Please?

when is your rent due? Can you get some stuff together to do a boot sale this weekend? Any local bars that can offer you a few shifts until the end of the month?

If you've got until the end of the month, any games or CD's you can ebay?

i take it that you don't have an overdraft facility.

can you do some overtime at work or do any cash in hand jobs at all? agency work?

what is your landlord/lady like? could you explain and pay some a little later?

i know you already know this, but your rent and bills must come out first.

are you paid weekly or monthly?

you say you are not managing to budget very well - have you been over to the debt-free wanabee board. if you list your incomings and outgoings and details of any debts (called an soa, statement of affairs) the folks on here can help you to manage better.

Basically I was very ill last year with depression and ended up leaving my previous home with nothing but clothes - hence so much help from friends and family! Also a single mum so extra work not an option either as I'd pay just as much for sitters.

Don't even have a current account at mo so no overdraft available. Yes I am gonna look at the debt free forum as I'm trying to sort out my whole situation - on a monthly basis I'm normally good, just got a bit carried away with the extra large wage as just moved job and a combination of overspending, and not realising certain money had already come in and been spent. Reluctant to approach letting agency as have been late a few times before - not cos of lack of funds but cos I work quite a way away from their offices, can't pay by cheque or direct debit so its difficult to sort rent payments anyway!!
